I did almost all of my shopping for wedding accessories online. I used Pinterest, like most brides do these days! Etsy was my best friend. I believe I did most of my shopping there. When did you start looking for your accessories? Probably after I chose my dress, 8 months before the wedding. How did you choose your bridesmaids’ accessories? I was pretty easy going, and let them wear whatever jewelry and shoes they liked. I just asked that they keep the jewelry simple. I shopped online and found a great deal on parasols and provided them for everyone. They made for some beautiful pictures! What is your top tip or tips for other brides about choosing their wedding day accessories? Let yourself be drawn to things that make you happy! Bride: Bamidele Bamgbopa Style: Eclectic; Vintage; Whimsical Wedding Date: June 20, 2015 Wedding Day Accessories: Bottom 3 Photos by Akinade Ogunleye Earrings (bought from a friend) Headpieces and silver wrist bangle (popular market in Lagos, Nigeria) How did you choose your wedding day accessories?
I have always wanted a wedding gown that would cover my neckline. It was this idea that informed the decision on what type of accessories to use. I bought the earrings from a friend whose sister imports jewelry. I bought the hairpieces from a popular market here in Lagos, Nigeria. I also got my silver wrist bangle from the same place. When did you start looking for your accessories? I started looking for the accessories as far back as February, 2015. There were some I bought and kept. How did you choose your bridesmaids’ accessories? I wanted the ladies to look alike so I got the gowns for them and also went to a jeweler to make the same earpiece/neck piece for each one of them. Another determinant was the colors of the day - cream and fuchsia pink. What is your top tip or tips for other brides about choosing their wedding day accessories? My advice is that each bride must first know what style of gown she will like to wear - turtle neck, off the shoulder, tube gown etc. This goes a long way in choosing accessories. Also, know the hairstyle you will like to wear on that day. Would you like to be featured and receive a $20 E-Gift Certificate to our boutique? I picked everything at the bridal shop, Alexia's in Raleigh, NC! I got the dress, shoes, and veil on the same day. I got undergarments from Macy's, jewelry from my mom (simple pearl earrings), and floral headpiece from my florist! When did you start looking for your accessories? Right when I got the dress! How did you choose your bridesmaids’ accessories? The bridesmaids just wore flowers in their hair; no jewelry or accessories.
